Last Wednesday evening, I attended a community sunset yoga class hosted by Dallas Fitness Ambassadors and Core Power Yoga. It was held in the CenterPark Garden in the middle of NorthPark Center. Once all 50+ yogis unrolled their mats out on the grass in the garden, we created quite the spectacle for anyone enjoying the spring like weather on one of the restaurant patios. Seriously, the weather was perfect for sunset yoga.
Dallas Fitness Ambassadors
A little over a year ago, I joined Dallas Fitness Ambassadors (DFA) as a way to connect with other fitness bloggers. At the time I had no idea what to expect, but the community of bloggers have become some of my closest friends! We are a diverse group, with a wide range of ages, fitness levels and fitness journeys. Some of us are runners, a couple teach yoga/pilates, a few are registered dietitians and others do cross-fit. Oh, we also accept guys in DFA so don’t be scared to join us! From beginner yogis to triathletes and ultra runners, you will be accepted at DFA.
Our mission is to build a community to inspire a fit and healthy lifestyle and connect bloggers and influencers. – Dallas Fitness Ambassadors
About once a month, DFA hosts events for their members at local fitness studios and locations around Dallas. As a member, I’ve been able to take sunset yoga, self-defense, pilates, cycle classes, silent disco yoga, and barre. A few of us even went on a glamping trip last fall at the Best Day Ever Ranch. It was easy to bond with other DFA members when we danced on hay bales, cooked dinner over a campfire and slept snuggled up in tents together at night!
Dallas Fitness Ambassadors also host local community classes, like the free sunset yoga with Core Power last week. These are a great time to come check out what DFA is all about and get to meet some of our members. (We also have great swag at our events, so you will not want to miss out). Be sure to like our community Facebook page, which is where you will find listings of upcoming events which include Silent Disco Yoga on March 23rd and Beginner Acro Yoga on April 8th.
Fun with Vendors and Swag
Besides having fun getting fit, the best part about DFA events is the vendors set up before and after the classes. Last week we had Makeup Forever doing lip touch-ups, MiniLuxe giving manicures, DryBar giving the cutest braids, The Juice Bar handing out bottles of their fresh juice and Green House Market treating us to coconut chia pudding. Everyone also left with an amazing swag bag with a FREE week of classes at CorePower along with beauty samples from Fresh and candy from the newly opened Sugarfina in Northpark.
We hope to see you at one of the Dallas Fitness Ambassador events soon!
